My financial services career began with New York Life in 1981. Coming from a marketing background with a major oil company, I welcomed the opportunity to work with individuals and businesses to protect, build, and preserve wealth. Helping people secure the best possible future for themselves and their families continues to be deeply gratifying. It is a privilege and a joy to sustain so many long term relationships over the past 40 years.
In response to client needs, the practice has focused on retirement planning, wealth transfer, and business succession planning with a special emphasis on tax strategy1. Merit Financial and Insurance Solutions was founded as a natural product of that demand. Education is important: I hold the CLU® and ChFC® designations, and am a Financial Adviser of Eagle Strategies, a Registered Investment Adviser and a New York Life Company. I am a member of the industry's association, National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, and a Life Member of the Million Dollar Round Table*. In 2010, I was recognized by New York Life for support and dedication to upcoming young agents.
I have loved Ventura County since moving here in 1981. Participating in Ventura County Leadership Academy was an important experience. My family has volunteered extensively with Guide Dogs of America. John, my husband of 30 years, is proud of his New Zealand heritage. We share three grown sons, a beloved daughter-in-law, and two rascally grand-daughters.
